The heart of our training is the legendary Five Animal Style. You will find speed and agility through the Leopard, a focused spirit through the Dragon, bending them with the snake's inner strength and ability to flow around any obstacle. You will then develope the Tiger's courage and fierceness along with the Crane's steady grace to keep you balanced. By mastering these different ways of moving, you become a complete martial artist.
Beyond empty-hand skill, you will master classic weapons of the Shaolin. You'll learn the reach of the Staff and the power of the Broadsword, along with the precision of the Spear and the close-range speed of the Butterfly Swords. As you progress, you will unlock the dominating presence of the Kwan Dao and the complexity of the Three-Sectional Staff. STX KICKBOXING is a unified striking system built to take the guesswork out of fighting. Developed by Erik Paulson, this system blends different arts together so you always have the technical edge in every spot.
It starts by building a strong, Mobile base that keeps you light on your feet. By mastering elite footwork and our signature kicking patterns, you learn how to stay in the pocket, land your shots and get out before you get hit.
Building on that movement, you mix the tricky entries of Savate with the direct hitting of JKD. This helps you find the "half-beat"—breaking the normal rhythm of the fight to land your shots before your opponent even realizes it's their turn to move.
The moment you make contact, you shift from striking to controlling. You'll use the heavy clinch work of Mauy Thai and the off-balancing of Filipino Dirty Boxing to shut down their weapons. You'll learn how to break their posture and create an easy path to a finish.
